My partner & a friend decided to tag Tecumseh on Saturday as the weather at higher summits was expected to be poor that day. I needed this summit for the winter 48 list. The remaining hikes i have to complete the list are mostly undesirables in my opinion. We left Barndoor hostel where I was hosting an AMC young member’s social weekend event where the whole hostel was booked out. When we left Rumney there was ice rain falling. We took out time and started just after 7am. The sun never came out & the summit was socked in. The trail conditions were still decent. We carried snowshoes but the trail was hardened ice most of the way. This hike was completed in short order so we could get back to the hostel.
