Started this hike at about 0145 am after becoming aware that the full moon would be at peak around 3am that same morning. I have often attempted full moon summits & have been socked in before so this was rewarding. The temperature was 14 degrees F at the parking lot. The campground side parking was not plowed after the large volume of snow that fell. The falling waters side was a partial plow job. I was not surprised to be the only person parking at 2am on a monday. I started with microspikes in the parking lot but changed to snowshoes after five minutes. The quality of the snow was mostly powder. Even though the trail was broken my energy levels and the effort required seemed much. The views were worth it. No wind on the summits.
